What is a Powerline Adapter?<\/strong><\/p>\n Wi-Fi is extremely convenient, but it certainly has its shortcomings. Even though powerline networks are slightly more inconvenient, they offer simplicity and reliability that wireless technology still can\u2019t match.<\/p>\n The electrical wiring in your home can do more than keep the lights on. Powerline adapters take advantage of the existing electrical wiring in your house. A powerline adapter can send data over your household’s existing electrical wiring just like it would over Ethernet cables \u2013 all you need is a power outlet.<\/p>\n Setting up a powerline connection is easy. All you\u2019ll need is a router, Ethernet cables, and at least two powerline adapters. One of the adapters should be plugged into the power outlet nearest to your router and connect to it using an Ethernet cable. Use the other adapters for each device you want to connect.<\/p>\n
