Habitat For Humanity Connects With NEWT

4 Reasons Why You Need Your Home Phone Service

The Value Of Happiness In The Workplace From The Perspective Of A Career Leader

Still glowing and feeling freshly motivated from our Culture Celebration 2.0 yesterday (), the pride we have for our company grew when we saw Patricia Polischuk’s blog post via LinkedIn, on The Value of Happiness in the Workplace. She was a recent attendee of John Stix, our President and Workplace Culture Warrior’s presentation on the value of happiness in the workplace, and had some things to say about it.

Polischuk’s background is extensive; she is a respectable motivator and coach in career management and sits on the Board of Directors for the YMCA. She, among the other attendees of John’s talk, had skepticism about the presentation. They have heard the endless leaders intent to motivate as they speak about the “value of people,” but none seem to walk the walk. As she puts it, “You can imagine the healthy amount of skepticism that hung in the air as we have all heard leaders talk about the “value of people”, “that a company is only as good as the talent they attract and retain” etc. Unfortunately, the term “lip service” comes to mind as time and time again, leaders simply do not walk the talk when it comes to treating people well in the workplace, let alone care about their happiness.”

John, on the other hand, does; and the full room of HR leaders were about to experience the passion and the true meaning behind Fibernetics’ mantra, “I’m in!”.
